Enumeration of Chenkurinji trees in Shendurney Wild life sanctuary
A total Enumeration of Chenkurinji trees was conducted in the sanctuary during 2009-10 . During this 3600 trees and poles were numbered and thousands of regenerations were observed.

Birds survey conducted
During Birds Survey conducted in March 2010 White Wagtail a migrant species was sighted at Umayar. This is the first record of sighting in Shendurney Sanctuary and new addition to the Birds list of sanctuary making total number 267.
Amphibian survey conducted
A total number of 29 species of frogs under 21 genera belong to 7 families were recorded during a survey conducted in July 2009.Family Rhacophoridae dominated with 13 species followed by Dicroglossidae(4 species) Nyctibatrachidae(4 species) and one species each from the families Microhylidae and Micrixalidae. Of the 29 species 23 are endemic to Western ghats.
Ecologue-2010
A three day workshop jointly organized by Kerala Forest Department and Jaiji PeterFoundation was conducted at Shendurney Wild life Sanctuary in January 2010. Presentations by Sri.T.M.ManoharanIFS, Sri.P.N.UnnikrishnanIFS, Sri.K.J.VarugheseIFS, Prof.Kunjikrishnan etc. on various topics followed by discussions on problems and prospects of Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve made the three day workshop live and effective. The valedictory address was made by Sri.Binoy Viswom, Hon' ble Minister for Forests and Housing.
